WHO Chief Urges China to Allow Full Access to Investigators on Covid Origins

WHO chief Tedros wants China to allow full access for investigators to determine Covid-19 origins. He says WHO has written to China requesting information and to send a team.

First Covid cases were in Wuhan, China in late 2019. Two theories are an accidental lab leak or animal-to-human transmission at a market.

A WHO-led team visited China in early 2021, but was not able to definitively determine the origins. All options remain open.

WHO has repeatedly asked China for more data and transparency in investigations into the origins.

WHO has now lifted the highest pandemic alert level thanks to vaccines, immunity, and better treatments. But new variants are emerging with autumn in Northern Hemisphere.
