WhatsApp Tests New Tap-to-Seek Controls for Easier Video Navigation

WhatsApp is beta testing new tap-to-seek gesture controls in its video player, allowing users to easily skip forward/backward like YouTube.

Double-tapping left/right sides of the screen skips back/forward 10 seconds - more intuitive than tapping the progress bar.

This should improve usability and make navigation easier for WhatsApp's basic built-in video player.

The new feature is only available to some beta testers currently, but expected to roll out more widely in the future.

WhatsApp is working on several other updates like alternate profiles, AI integration, visual redesigns to improve the app's functionality.
