Alaska Leads Nation in Job Openings as Workers Gain Confidence in Hot Labor Market

Alaska has the highest job opening rate in the country at 10.6% as of August 2022.

The top 10 states struggling the most to hire workers are Alaska, West Virginia, South Carolina, Georgia, New Mexico, Louisiana, Montana, Mississippi, Colorado, and North Carolina.

Nationwide, the job openings rate increased at the end of August compared to the previous month.

Workers feel more confident in the current job market and in their ability to get a pay raise according to Morning Consult.

Job search activity has increased in 2022 which is a sign of a strong labor market where job switchers are rewarded.
