Toyota Recalls 1.9 Million RAV4s in U.S. Over Fire Risk from Loose Battery Clamps
- Toyota recalling nearly 1.9M RAV4s in U.S. for potential fire risk from batteries
- Problem is smaller replacement 12V batteries can move during turns if clamp not tightened
- Battery movement can cause terminal to contact clamp and short circuit
- Recall to replace hold-down clamp, battery tray, positive terminal cover
- Toyota will notify owners by late December, no reports yet of fires/crashes/injuries
