BRICS Close to Launching Rival Currency to Challenge Dollar Dominance

Russia's former advisor Sergey Glazyev announced BRICS is close to launching a new currency to rival the US dollar.

Glazyev said the BRICS currency is "almost ready" and just needs "political consent" from member states.

So far 3 of the 5 BRICS countries support introducing the new currency.

If the remaining 2 countries consent, the currency could potentially launch in 2024.

The new BRICS currency threatens the US dollar's dominance and could impact multiple sectors if BRICS stops using the dollar.
