Arizona Senator's GoFundMe for Father's Plane Crash Raises Ethical Concerns

Arizona state senator J.D. Mesnard started a GoFundMe after his father was paralyzed in a plane crash. It raised over $25,000.

Politicians, lobbyists, and activists contributed nearly half the donations from $25 to $5,000.

The diverse donors included lawmakers from both parties and registered lobbyists, raising ethical concerns.

The top donation of $5,000 came from activist donor Randy Kendrick.

The funds will help pay to extract the wreckage for investigation into whether pilot error caused the crash.
