OnePlus Bringing Innovative 'Open Canvas' Multitasking to Upcoming Tablet

OnePlus Open's "Open Canvas" multitasking is coming to the OnePlus Pad tablet. It allows apps to expand off-screen and smoothly transition between fullscreen and split-screen.

"Open Canvas" takes a different approach to multitasking than standard Android by letting apps move in and out of view instead of just splitting the screen.

It works very well on the OnePlus Open phone. You can have 2 apps side-by-side and swipe in a third. It's the most fluid and useful multitasking system for a phone/tablet.

OnePlus confirmed during a Reddit AMA they are working on bringing Open Canvas to the OnePlus Pad, but no timeline given.

Open Canvas would be useful on the Pad's larger screen. It would improve the otherwise basic multitasking software on the tablet.
