Apple Unveils New M3 Macs and macOS 14.1, Most Powerful Yet Require Day-One Software Update

New M3 MacBook Pro and iMac models will require a macOS update on day one. The update will be macOS Sonoma 14.1 with build number 23B2077.

M3 Macs are available to order now. M3 and M3 iMac models ship November 7, M3 Max MacBook Pros later in November.

M3 Pro has 25% less memory bandwidth than M1/M2 Pro chips. M3 is fastest and most efficient Apple silicon.

Apple announced new Space Black color for 14" and 16" M3 Pro/Max MacBook Pros. Resists fingerprints.

First Geekbench scores show M3 chip with ~3000 single-core and ~11700 multi-core, vs ~2600 and ~9700 for M2.
