HBO Max Downgrades Standard Plan, Moves 4K and Extra Streams to More Expensive Tier
-
Max is removing 4K streaming and reducing concurrent streams from 3 to 2 for its standard $15.99/month ad-free plan starting Dec 5.
-
4K content will now only be available on Max's higher-priced $19.99/month Ultimate plan.
-
The Ultimate plan also includes up to 100 downloads, 4 concurrent streams, and Dolby Atmos.
-
Max says the standard plan's price will stay the same, but "some features will change."
-
Max's owner Warner Bros. Discovery earlier said more 4K content would come to the new Ultimate tier.
