Honda Debuts Foldable Electric Suitcase Scooter for $995

The Motocompacto is a tiny, portable, seated electric scooter designed by Honda that folds into a suitcase shape for easy transport.

It has a top speed of 15 mph, 12 mile range, and 41 lb weight. The ride is smooth but it struggles on bumpy roads.

It was designed by a Honda employee and is inspired by a 1981 Honda gas scooter that fit in a car trunk.

At $995 it's expensive but has charm and portability unmatched by other scooters. It charges fully in 3.5 hours.

The Motocompacto launched in the US today and is meant to provide some joy and solve last-mile transportation problems.
