Raja Riaz Defects from PTI to PML-N, Joins Forces with the Sharifs

Former PTI leader Raja Riaz officially joined the PML-N on Saturday - the party against whose government he was opposition leader until August.

Riaz met with PML-N leaders Nawaz Sharif and Shehbaz Sharif in London and expressed confidence in Nawaz's leadership.

Shehbaz announced Riaz's membership at a media talk in London, hoping it would lend "great strength" to the PML-N.

Riaz thanked the Sharifs and said he would play a role in improving the party and welcoming Nawaz back to Pakistan.

Riaz's move is unsurprising - after leading PTI exodus last year, he said he wished to contest next elections on a PML-N ticket.
