FFXIV Player Blocked from Progressing Main Quest by Overpowered Elite Mob

Reddit user ethman14 was unable to progress in FFXIV due to an elite mob blocking the way to meet Thancred for a main story quest.

The elite mob Maahes was level 50, while ethman was just starting out, making it impossible to get by.

Higher level players would have had to clear the mob for ethman to continue the main scenario questline.

This has happened before during the opening of FFXIV's Korean servers, requiring GM assistance.

The friendly FFXIV community likely would have helped ethman by clearing the mob if asked.
