Senate Democrats Seek Workaround for Tuberville's Blockade of Hundreds of Military Promotions

Senate Democrats are trying a new workaround to confirm hundreds of military officers blocked by Sen. Tommy Tuberville over a Pentagon abortion policy.

Tuberville has objected to confirming the nearly 400 officers en masse, forcing votes on each one which would take weeks or months.

Democrats plan to hold votes soon on 3 top Pentagon officers affected by the holds.

The blockade has led the Marines' top general to serve in 2 roles unsustainably before being hospitalized.

Despite growing frustration from both parties, Tuberville has not lifted his holds, demanding the military end abortion-related travel benefits.
