Dashtoon Raises $5M to Help Creators Publish AI-Generated Comics

Dashtoon uses AI to help storytellers create comics without needing to draw. It has a suite of generative AI tools and a publishing platform releasing daily episodes.

Dashtoon has commissioned about 30 comics and plans to add 1,000 new episodes per month. It launched a freemium model in October and made $15k revenue the first month.

Dashtoon was founded in December 2022 and recently raised $5M in seed funding led by Matrix Partners India and Stellaris Venture Partners.

Creators upload storyboards then use AI to generate character images. This cuts episode creation time from 40-50 hours to 5-6 hours.

Dashtoon focuses on long-form fiction, drama and fantasy comics. It plans to build a community of creators publishing first on its platform.
