Boeing Investigates Cyber Attack on Parts and Distribution Systems

Boeing says it is investigating a cyber incident that impacted its parts and distribution business.

The incident comes after the Lockbit cybercrime gang claimed it stole sensitive Boeing data and threatened to release it if ransom wasn't paid.

Boeing says the issue does not affect flight safety and it is coordinating with law enforcement.

The company's Global Services division, which provides material and logistics support, appears to be impacted.

Security experts say paying ransom does not guarantee data won't still be leaked, and loss of defense info would be problematic.
