Apple's new M3 Max chip in 16-inch MacBook Pro posts impressive Geekbench 6 scores, coming very close to the performance of M2 Ultra Mac Pro.

The M3 Max scores 21,084 in multi-core, crushing the M2 Max's 14,497 score. It also beats Snapdragon's Elite X multi-core score.

Single-core score of M3 Max is around 2,943, slightly below base M3 chip's 3,050 score.

M3 Max 16-inch MacBook Pro model starts at $3,599, ships later in November. Lower M3 and M3 Pro models ship next week.

The powerful M3 Max positions Apple well against upcoming Intel Meteor Lake chips and Snapdragon Elite X.
