Sony's AI Driver Sophy Now Permanent in Gran Turismo 7 After Impressive Debut

Sony is integrating its Sophy AI agent into Gran Turismo 7 as a permanent feature after testing it earlier this year. Sophy can now race 340 cars on 9 tracks.

Sophy was trained by Sony AI to beat the best human GT players. It provides a competitive yet respectful challenge.

Sophy is limited to Quick Race mode for now, able to run 20 cars at once. The goal is eventually replacing default AI across all modes.

Update 1.40 adds 7 new cars, a new snow track with 3 layouts, new events and tests, and 4-player splitscreen on PS5.

Sophy aims to provide a more realistic and enjoyable AI racing experience compared to default AI or complicated online multiplayer.
